I would hope that WoD won't be a pay to play, although i figure it will be.
i don't like having to pay every month to play games that don't have actualy Game Masters events like other MMORPGs.
I have played a few MMORPG's including WoW, DDO, POTBS, none of these kept my intrest for too long.
If MMORPGs would actually have people running games frequently, i may be interested, but i dought that will happen.
This will be epic, ive loves all of white wolfs table tops and this would be the ultimate experience for me. Prolly be rated "M" if they are to correctly preserve the nature of the game.

well in response to the whole gms not being involved thing. ccp developed and runs the mmo eve-online the biggest and most in depth mmo currently out there. World of darkness should be pretty interesting and if the gms act anything like in eve there will be multi gm run events and several of them monitering the game at all times as well as a down time where they patch things that go wrong for an hour every day.
I am barely able to wait for this MMO. A game made by CCP, creators of the groundbreaking EVE Online, and White Wolf, of WoD stardom. I juuust caaan't waaait...

Its a shame that the vampire aspect will no doubt be based along the requiem books.
Many many people i know, will be massivley put off by this, that means no sabbatt, giovanni, setites ect...
However,as long as they get the currently clans spot on, namely gangrel, ill buy it :D

An on-line WoD is just what the community needs. CCP has done an incredible job with EVE online and I am sure they will do a good job here. Although it's difficult to concieve the magnitude and complexity needed to make it realistic enough in aspects of both character evolution and world realism. Not to mention the overlay of the rulesets and how they will have to play into and govern things.
As a side note - I can't imagine anyone thinking this could not be a monthly charge game to play. If it is really a great game (fingers crossed) then I would want it to be so that it keeps the developers developing and forces the quality to be good enough to make people want to pay and play it.
It's absolutely foolish to think this wouldn't be pay2play. They're not going to invest tons of time, money and energy into running and upkeeping this online game - for free! What it comes down too, is if you want them to make this the best experience possible, then you just going to have to get over being CHEAP, get a job and devote some to your hobby - simple as that.
Please for all that is pure and evil in the world of darkness, mages have got to be in the line up of characters we can play... pls o pls o pls.
From what I hear so far... It's old Worold of Darkness (thank god!) And playable characters consist of only vampires (understandably so) werewolves, mages and the like are just too powerful to add yet. though eventually they may add them. I doubt they're even going to add the tzimisce and Lasombra to the mix.

Or will it be, like, choose an object, area, or target, and just scroll through a list of what effects you can do? That would be epic, and if you could put quick options in, like, a Fable-styled so you could press a favorite key for a favorite effect.
I would love to make my Marauder on there. He's fucking insane, and he thinks that he was given superpowers by a hobo to hunt Vampires, and usually just ends up blowing some *** up and missing all of the Lyches.

Where did you hear that? From what I heard the WW said several times they have pretty much finished with the oWoD and will only focus on the new setting. If they haven't changed their mind, they probably wouldn't give the license to any product that doesn't feature the new setting and rules.
Well, if they manage to pull it off and make a good game, I don't care all that much which setting is featured. Here's hoping the game gets released and is good!
